Hi friends! A couple of quick announcements for you.
Sunsetting IRC, Fediverse, and Matrix
Based on overall usage and a cost-analysis of our hosting requirements, we have made the decision to sunset our IRC, Fediverse, and Matrix servers. We recognise that for some of you, a chat platform is more enjoyable to use than a forum. However, we need to trim down our hosting costs, and the forum offers benefits like search indexing that are just too nice to pass up.
This decision will allow us to focus all of our community building attention onto this forum, which now serves as our single point of contact.
Badges
As part of our shift in focus, we’ve decided to launch custom badges on our forum! You can now earn badges for contributing to our products (either in the form of code contributions, bug reports, or feature suggestions). Additionally, we’ve added a few special badges to recognise those who have truly helped us pursue our goals.
